Grid Computing has become one of the most discussed new directions in commercial and scientific computing. It focuses on enabling organisations to extract greater value from their computing assets - hardware, software and data - by making it easier for them to be shared in a controlled manner.
Paul Watson is Professor of Computer Science and Director of the North East Regional e-Science Centre. In this talk he will be discussing not only the potential of Grid Computing, but also the current state of the art in both technologies and deployed grids, using examples from both the commercial world and scientific computing.
An essential event for anyone interested in grid computing technologies and their potential.
